AGENCY WINS FOUR OF STATE’S TOP TOURISM AWARDS TDSM, LLC, a full-service destination marketing agency based in Ottawa, Ill., earned four awards at the recent Illinois Governor’s Conference on Tourism. A comprehensive campaign created to launch Peru’s new August Hill Winery was honored as the best single marketing campaign in the state with “Best of Show.” The August Hill campaign, which included wine labels, brochures, a website and newsletter, marked the first time a winery has ever won the highly coveted award. It was selected from more than 100 entries from around the state. This is the sixth consecutive year that TDSM has received awards at the annual state conference on tourism and the second time the agency has won “Best of Show.” In 2003, “Galenascapes,” a destination marketing campaign TDSM created for Galena/Jo Daviess County, received the honor. In total, TDSM’s marketing and advertising services have won 22 awards for their outstanding contribution to the marketing of Illinois’ tourism destinations. In addition to winning Illinois’ highest award for a destination marketing campaign, TDSM also brought home the top award in the state of Kentucky this year for two Paducah destination marketing campaigns. The agency won “Best of Show” for its “Feel the Movement” and “Artistic Movement” marketing campaigns, which featured a cohesive mix of print, radio, and Internet advertising. TDSM competed against entries from throughout Illinois in two divisions of this year’s Tourism Awards competition. Division A represents those clients with an annual budget under $250,000, while Division C represents clients operating with a budget of more than $700,000. Other 2006 awards earned by TDSM’s marketing and advertising services were “Best Alternate Advertising” for August Hill Winery; “Best Meeting Planner Guide” for the Lake County Convention & Visitors Bureau’s Destination Guide; and “Best Print Advertising Campaign” for the Galena/Jo Daviess County Convention & Visitors Bureau’s “Outsiders Welcome” campaign. This was Galena’s fourth consecutive year to receive an award for work created by TDSM.
